Classes Taught by Mr. Morales

Theatre Arts I

Grades 9-12

In this course, students will learn the basics of theatre arts! Students will participate in proper theatre etiquette, improvisation, ensemble activities, duet and group acting, read and discuss plays, intro to voice and moverment. This class is perfect for a student who has never taken theatre arts before. Get ready to have some fun!

Theatre Arts III/IV 
Acting/Directing

Grades 11-12

In this course, students will explore scripts as they practice different acting methods, learn and apply directing techniques, script analysis, duet and group scenes, and incorporate movement and voice to characterizations. Students will be working in pairs and groups for script discussions, directing, and acting. This class is for the students who have previously taken 2 years of high school theatre art classes.

Theatre Arts I - Life Skills

Grades 9-12

In this course, students will participate in sensory exploration activities that allow for self-discovery and growth. Students will mentor and work together to create a safe and welcoming space for self-exploration and community celebration. This class is for advanced theatre students in their Junior and Senior year of high school. Space is limited.

Technical Theatre II/III/IV
Set Construction

Grades 10-12

In this course, students will learn about scene design and construction. Students will use skills to create set models, explore color theory and design to create set models, and apply theatre safety when using power tools to build set pieces. Students will also learn about different set paintings techniques and prop making. This class is for students who have taken at least 1 year of high school theatre.

Colored Theatre Lights

Theatre Production III/IV

Grades 11-12

In this course, students will participate in after-school productions like our Fall Show, Fall Musical, One Act Play, Spring Musical. This class is for students who are interested in being a part of the theatre department. Students will participate in backstage jobs, marketing, design, onstage acting, and front of house jobs. This class is meant for any grade level, but after school time is required.

Musical Theatre I/II

Grades 9-12

In this course, students will learn basic dance skills such as Ballet, Tap, and Jazz as well as early musical theatre works. Students will learn original Broadway Choreography to Classics such as West Side Story, Anything Goes, Chicago, and Gypsy. Students will also learn music theory as well as solos and chorus songs from musicals.

Technical Theatre I

Grades 9-12

In this class, students will learn how to employ proper theatre etiquette, identify scenic​ shop tools, equipment, and materials. Students will explore lighting equipment, identify sound equipment and materials. Prop construction using inexpensive products, designing budget and marketing materials, and intro to stage management.

Theatre Arts II
Voice/Movements

Grades 10-12

This theatre course will focus on expanding the students acting skills by exploring the voice and body of the actor. Students will learn how to employ multiple acting methids, movementbody control, proper vocalization techniques, and character development through voice and movement.

Technical Theatre II/III/IV
Makeup/Costumes

Grades 10-12

This class is divided by semester. The first semester will focus on introductory theatrical stage makeup. Students will learn about design, application techniques, and different methods like old age, bruising, and fantasy.

Second semester will focus on advanced costume design and construction such as draping, creating custom costumes, and/or tailoring clothes to make original pieces.
